If your gazebo is made from steel (iron or aluminium), a gazebo cover will shield it from sun in summer, to prevent it from getting too hot, and in wet weather from rusting before its time. If you gazebo is made from vinyl or canvas, the roof probably was not made to be left outside year round. If you choose to do this, you may need a cover for it.

Depending on the shape this will vary. Basically you need to know the length, width and height of the gazebo, and if there are any variations (for example if the middle of the roof is higher than the outside.
Usually the cover will just go over the outside, but some covers can be bought which are just walls, and attach to the outside of the gazebo (for those that already have a roof.
Maintaining Gazebo Covers
You may find that your Gazebo canopy develops dark stains from being outdoors. It’s usually simple to clean this off (depending on the material you are working with).
Using detergent, fill a bucket with warm water,
Using a soft haired brush, dip in the bucket and rub over canvas until the marks disappear.
Allow to dry when the canvas is completely clean.
